Club Report:
Erdington Judo Club at the BJA Great Britain Masters - 29th September 2007
Erdington Judo Club entered 17 player to the Tournament in Thetford and came away with 14 medals, including gold for coaches Les Eacock and Andy Marshall.
Les won his final fight with a familiar big pick-up, whereas Andy struck gold with a slick kata-guruma.
Steve Ashford (2A's and Wyndley coach) narrowly missed his 5th gold at this event taking silver in a very close final. Streetly SWS coach Neil Harrison fought his way through a tough pool to a well deserved bronze.
Erdington entered the biggest team in the event and easily came away as the most successful. It was a very proud day for all concerned.
A quote from the BJA website:
"The event attracted over 150 male and female judoka with all four home nations represented. Each and every contest was keenly fought in the best spirit of judo, great action, big throws and even bigger smiles!!" |
